Hi all, jack here.

I am the Bass player of this band.
I’ve been playing electric guitar in a few previous covers bands over the years. I first started playing the electric guitar at the age of 15. I also had a go on Bass guitar too, but electric guitar was my passion back then, and well, still is, but I wanted a new challenge, so I picked the Bass back up and now that’s my passion at 32!
From previously playing in a covers band with Aby and Lee for the past 3 years, Lee had his own project going on in the background. It was only until recently certain members went their separate ways and the Bass players vacancy became available.
Since joining Defined by back in September, I have been involved in many projects since joining. From appearing in my first music video, to exploring new riffs, and even walking into UCLAN for the first time ever!
God’s no help music video

This was the first project I got involved in almost straight away. When we were shooting the “God’s No Help” video, it felt as though I just walked into someone else’s private abandoned land! Yeah, sounds odd, but it is true. If you notice in the music video, it reminded me of an abandoned nuclear fallout area. Thankfully though, the “3 eyed fish” from the Simpsons didn’t cause a further influence on me.
I was asked to be part of the music video almost instantly. The word “instantly” is the correct term to use, as I had never done something like this before, I have always wanted to, and then “BAM” within a blink of an eye, I am featured on the official “God’s no help” video! This was my first “snippet” of what this band is all about, we just get stuck in, and get it done.
Monopoly
Now, where would you often find the classic board game “Monopoly”? Perhaps in the loft?

Under the stairs maybe? Or simply stuffed inside a drawer? Well, this classic board game was exactly what I was thinking when being told about this single. But rather than arguing over who is going to be the dog, or making fun of whoever ends up playing the shoe, Defined by, well before I had even joined wrote this song called “Monopoly”. With Lees gentle lyrics from the start, and a splash of reverb on the crisp clean guitar intro, I would have certainly put my houses on this to be an absolute banger of a tune!
I had also had the pleasure of shooting a 2nd music video for the upcoming single “Monopoly”. This however, was nowhere near that creepy abandoned land we previously visited. This was in a nice, warm, and extremely posh photography studio. I had never set foot in any studio before, so this was another first for me. I can't wait for you all to hear Monopoly, and see the video!
